For gasoline automobile manufacturers who need to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase fuel economy, NxtGen is developing a hydrogen fumigation system that enables low temperature, lean combustion engine control modes.

Industry research conducted in the past several years has demonstrated that hydrogen fumigation in gasoline engines enables lower temperature combustion and higher exhaust gas recirculation resulting in 5 to 25% gains in fuel economy and similar reductions in CO2 emissions.

NxtGen has developed a gasoline based syngas generator for light-duty engines to provide the hydrogen required by engine and automobile manufacturers to make advanced engine modes practical and reliable. We are engaging with automotive industry partners to complete development of this technology in 2010.
